Job Description
The Business Analyst supports the Business Unit's future growth by translating customer needs, market opportunities and operational challenges into clear, compelling technology solutions. Working closely with the Head of Technology, engineering, sales and pre-sales teams, the role focuses on tender responses, solution definition and the development of reusable solution assets, rather than the delivery of any single project. The Business Analyst helps shape how the Business Unit packages, presents and differentiates its offerings to win new business.
Key Responsibilities
Tender and Proposal Support
- Analyse tender documents (RFIs, RFPs, RFQs) to identify customer requirements, evaluation criteria, compliance needs and risks.
- Prepare requirements compliance matrices, clarification questions and gap analyses.
- Contribute to technical write-ups, solution descriptions, concepts of operations (CONOPS) and executive summaries.
- Coordinate inputs from engineering, pre-sales, commercial and partner teams to meet submission deadlines.
- Support effort, scope and cost estimation by structuring requirements into work breakdowns and assumptions.
- Conduct post-tender reviews to capture lessons learnt and improve future bids.
Solutioning and Requirements Definition
- Engage customers and internal stakeholders to understand business problems, operational workflows and desired outcomes.
- Translate business needs into functional and non-functional requirements, use cases, user stories and process flows.
- Work with solution architects and engineers to shape fit-for-purpose solutions and evaluate alternative options.
- Develop current-state and future-state process maps to show the value of proposed solutions.
- Build and maintain a library of reusable solution assets, such as requirement templates, reference solutions, use cases and standard responses.
Business Growth and Market Insight
- Conduct market, customer and competitor research to identify new opportunities, emerging needs and technology trends.
- Support the development of business cases, value propositions and return-oninvestment analyses for new offerings.
- Help shape product and solution roadmaps based on customer feedback, tender trends and market insights.
- Track opportunities, win/loss outcomes and recurring customer requirements to inform growth strategy.
User Experience and Solution Visualisation
- Create wireframes, mock-ups, user journeys and storyboards to communicate solution concepts in tenders and customer presentations.
- Prepare clear, compelling diagrams, presentation decks and demo storylines for customer engagements.
- Apply user-centred design principles so that proposed solutions are intuitive and fit the way operators work.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a bridge between customers, business development, pre-sales and technology teams.
- Facilitate requirements workshops, solution walkthroughs and internal reviews.
- Support the Head of Technology with analysis, reports and materials for management and strategic discussions.
Requirements
- Degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in business analysis, pre-sales, solutioning or tender support, preferably in a technology or systems integration environment.
- Proven experience in eliciting, analysing and documenting requirements.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and structured-thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, persuasive technical and business documents.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint, Excel and Word, and process modelling tools such as Visio or similar.
- Able to manage multiple deadlines and work well under tender timelines.
- UI/UX experience, such as wireframing, prototyping or user journey design, will be an advantage.
