We are seeking an experienced Bunker Operator to join a Bunker Trading firm based in Singapore. This is a hands-on operational role suited to someone who can work independently, manage high volumes, and take ownership of the full bunkering cycle from scheduling through to documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Programme and coordinate barge job orders, ensuring efficient scheduling and vessel turnaround
- Liaise with vessel masters, agents, and port authorities to confirm stem details and operational requirements
- Handle import operations including coordination with MPA, customs documentation, and quantity reconciliation
- Monitor barge nominations, loading orders, and delivery schedules across multiple concurrent stems
- Ensure all bunker delivery receipts (BDRs) and quantity/quality documentation are accurate and filed in a timely manner
- Manage operational issues including disputes, off-spec claims, and delays - escalating where necessary
- Coordinate closely with the trading/sales desk to ensure stems are executed in line with confirmed contracts
- Maintain compliance with MPA regulations and internal HSE/operational protocols
- Support invoicing and post-delivery reconciliation with the finance team
Requirements
- Minimum 4 - 6 years of experience in bunker operations with a physical supplier is essential for this role.
- Proven experience in barge programming and in port operations is essential
- Strong working knowledge of MPA regulations, port procedures, and Singapore bunkering operations
- Able to work independently and manage multiple stems simultaneously with minimal supervision
- Proficient in Microsoft Office familiarity with bunker operations software an advantage
- Good communication skills for liaison with internal and external stakeholders
- Diploma or Degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, or a related field preferred
