Building Services Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking a Building Maintenance Engineer to manage and maintain the infrastructure of an existing hospital site. This role is ideal for candidates with strong experience in architectural finishes and building systems, especially those who have worked on residential or commercial properties in Singapore.

Candidates without prior FM or healthcare experience are welcome to apply, as long as they bring solid hands-on knowledge in building maintenance and a proactive, solutions-driven mindset.

Key Responsibilities

Facilities & Architectural Maintenance

  • Troubleshoot and manage issues related to plumbing, sanitary systems, waterproofing, ceiling works, flooring, and drainage
  • Conduct regular inspections and oversee rectification works for architectural finishes and internal spaces
  • Ensure environmental conditions and thermal comfort are maintained in patient and clinical areas

Team & Vendor Supervision

  • Supervise technicians and technical officers
  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers for maintenance and repair works
  • Ensure all works comply with safety regulations and hospital protocols

Planning & Reporting

  • Prepare quotations using Schedule of Rates (SOR)
  • Develop and manage OPEX and CAPEX budgets
  • Draft technical specifications and incident reports with root cause analysis

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Liaise with hospital users, internal teams, and external stakeholders
  • Provide technical guidance and maintain high service standards

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Building, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in building maintenance or construction, preferably in residential or commercial property projects
  • Strong working knowledge of architectural finishes, plumbing, sanitary systems, and waterproofing
  • Familiarity with PUB guidelines, local codes, and statutory compliance
  • Excellent coordination, communication, and leadership skills
  • Safety-conscious with a proactive approach to incident management
