Job Description



Biomedical Engineer

You are responsible for managing the commissioning and decommissioning, rectification, preventive maintenance, and maintenance agreements of all medical equipment within the Hospital. This includes preparing medical equipment specifications for procurement and be participating in evaluation process to provide recommendations based on technical compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Medical Equipment Preventative Maintenance
  • Key liaison for AMKH's medical equipment receipt and commissioning / decommissioning of medical equipment.
  • Monitor the completion of Corrective Maintenance (CM), Preventive Maintenance (PM).
  • Administration
  • Manage equipment inventory and maintenance schedules.
  • Assist in reviewing and updating SOPs in accordance with Workplace Health Safety/ Quality Guidelines/ Business Continuity.
  • Stay abreast of new medical equipment/technology.
  • Perform other tasks and roles as and when assigned.
  • 1st Level Equipment Troubleshooting
  • Check, investigate faults of medical equipment and trouble shoot onsite.
  • Supervise specialist/vendors and appointed contractors on medical equipment maintenance works.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance to junior staff in their work.
  • Delegate assignments to junior staff.
  • Conduct On-Job Training (OJT) for junior staff.
  • Lead/Manage Team operations and morale.
  • Equipment Procurement and Project Management
  • Provide BME- related input as subject matter expert.
  • Conduct and evaluate equipment purchases, including PM commitments.
  • Maintain licensing as required by relevant authorities.

Requirements

  • At least a Diploma in Electronics or relevant Engineering course with at least 8 years of experience in service and maintenance of medical equipment, or
  • At least a Degree in Electronics or in relevant Engineering course with at least 2 years of experience in service and maintenance of medical equipment.
  • At least 3-5 years of practical experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Good technical and domain knowledge and competency
  • Good negotiation & project management skills
  • Demonstrate familiarity with equipment and services procurement
  • Independent worker, possess initiative to complete tasks and projects assigned
