Job Description

BIM Modeller (Architectural)

The role focuses on translating design concepts into accurate, clear, and practical drawings and models that can be used throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  1. Shop Drawings of Office Furniture and Specifications

    • Create detailed 2D drawings and technical documentation for office furniture using software such as AutoCAD or SketchUp.
    • Ensure the drawings meet design standards and client requirements.
    • Include precise dimensions, materials, finishes, and assembly instructions to guide fabrication and installation.
  2. 3D Colour Render Drawings of Furniture/Office Space

    • Develop visually realistic 3D models of furniture and interior spaces.
    • Apply colours, textures, and lighting effects to give clients and stakeholders a clear understanding of the proposed design.
    • Use these models for presentations, design reviews, and marketing purposes.
  3. Preparation of Mood Boards

    • Compile visual boards that showcase the proposed design's style, materials, colours, and textures.
    • Assist in communicating the overall aesthetic and feel of the space to clients or design teams.
    • Support decision-making during the design development phase.
  4. Submission of As-Built Drawings & O&M Manuals

    • Update drawings to reflect any changes made during construction, producing accurate as-built documentation.
    • Prepare Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals that provide essential information for the building's ongoing use and upkeep.
    • Ensure all documentation complies with project standards and is delivered on time.

Required Skills and Knowledge

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or SketchUp for 2D and 3D modelling.
  • Experience with 3D rendering software to produce colour visuals (e.g., V-Ray, Lumion).
  • Strong understanding of architectural detailing, furniture design, and construction processes.
  • Ability to produce clear, precise technical drawings suitable for manufacturing and installation.
  • Good communication skills for collaborating with designers, clients, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modelling) principles and software is an advantage.
