Founded by Chef-Owner Dave Pynt, Burnt Ends is a modern barbecue restaurant in Singapore's Dempsey Hill serving modern Australian barbecue and boutique wines and spirits in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. At the heart of this modern barbecue restaurant is an open kitchen concept with a custom four-tonne, dual cavity oven, and four elevation grills. Burnt Ends writes new menus daily and believes that there is magic that comes from cooking with wood.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and assemble a variety of savoury items including sandwiches, wraps, and pizzas

  • Handle and process deli meats, including slicing, portioning, and proper storage

  • Prepare and cook condiments, fillings, and sauces (e.g., spreads, dressings, reductions)

  • Work with different types of doughs, including mixing, proofing, shaping, and baking

  • Perform lamination of doughs (e.g., croissants, puff pastry) with proper technique and consistency

  • Fry and finish doughnuts and other fried bakery items

  • Ensure proper mise en place and station setup for daily production

  • Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness

  • Monitor ingredient quality and report shortages or inconsistencies

  • Assist in production planning to meet daily output requirements

  • Support packaging and presentation of products for retail or service

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in bakery, pastry, or hot kitchen operations preferred (artisan bakery or café production)

  • Basic knowledge of dough handling and fermentation processes

  • Familiarity with laminated dough techniques is an advantage

  • Ability to work with both cold prep and hot cooking tasks

  • Good knife skills, especially for deli slicing and prep

  • Strong attention to detail and consistency in production

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Team player with good communication skills

  • Valid food hygiene certificate
