About The Job
We&aposre looking for a highly capable Level 2 Windows Support Engineer with a strong background in both on-premise and cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of hands-on Wintel experience and 2 years of hands-on AWS cloud experience, particularly in secure or regulated environments like the Government Commercial Cloud (GCC).
This role is centered on the maintenance, support, and security of Windows workloads hosted on AWS. You&aposll be a key player in ensuring the stability and integrity of our systems, with a focus on proactive problem-solving and security remediation.
- Provide L2 support for Windows servers in on-premise and AWS environments.
- Manage core Wintel services like Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.
- Resolve incidents and service requests using ITSM platforms (ServiceNow, Jira).
- Execute and coordinate patch management for Windows servers.
- Administer key AWS services including EC2, S3, IAM, and CloudWatch.
- Remediate security findings from CIS Hardening, VMS, and Cloudscape.
- Develop automation scripts using PowerShell and AWS CLI.
- Create and maintain technical documentation and standard operating procedures.
- Participate in on-call rotations and scheduled maintenance windows.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on Wintel administration and support experience.
- 2+ years of hands-on AWS experience supporting Windows workloads.
- Experience with IAM roles, security groups, S3 access policies, and CloudWatch alarms/logs.
- Familiarity with security frameworks such as CIS Benchmarks and SCAP.
- Proficiency with tools like Trend Micro Vision One, Qualys/Tenable, AWS Config, and AWS Systems Manager.
- Strong PowerShell scripting skills for automation and routine tasks.
- Knowledge of backup and recovery strategies for Windows servers in a cloud environment.
- Understanding of ITIL practices and experience with ticketing systems.
