We are seeking a skilled AV Technician to join our Banquet team in a dual-capacity role. You will provide comprehensive audio-visual technical support while actively assisting with banquet service operations, ensuring seamless event execution at our luxury eco-resort.
Key Responsibilities
Audio-Visual Equipment Management
- Set up, operate, and maintain all AV equipment for banquet events including projectors, screens, microphones, speakers, lighting systems, and video conferencing equipment.
- Conduct pre-event technical checks and sound tests to ensure all equipment functions optimally.
- Maintain inventory of AV equipment and accessories, ensuring proper storage and care.
- Coordinate equipment, procurement and replacement as needed.
Event Technical Support
- Provide on-site technical support during events, weddings, corporate meetings, conferences, and special occasions.
- Operate sound mixing boards, lighting controls, and presentation equipment during live events.
- Assist with live streaming, video recording, and virtual event setups when required.
- Ensure smooth transitions between different segments of events.
System Maintenance & Quality Control
- Perform regular maintenance and calibration of all AV equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintain detailed logs of equipment usage, maintenance schedules, and repair requirements.
- Coordinate with external vendors for equipment servicing and repairs when necessary.
- Test and validate new AV technologies and equipment before implementation.
Banquet Service Support
- Assist in setting up banquet rooms according to event specifications, including table arrangements and room preparation.
- Support banquet service team during meal service periods, including plating, serving, and clearing of courses.
- Help coordinate timing between kitchen, service staff, and event programs.
- Support event flow management, crowd control, and coordination with vendors and external supplier.
- Assist Banquet Manager in training new team members and maintaining accurate event records.
Job Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Electronics, Audio Engineering, IT, or related field or 2-3 years of hands-on experience in AV industry.
- Understanding of banquet service standards and food safety practices.
- Knowledge of video projection systems, LED displays, and presentation technologies.
- Basic understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Proficiency in lighting control systems, event staging, operating audio mixing consoles, microphone systems, and sound equipment.
- Familiarity with video conferencing platforms and live streaming technologies.
- Proficient in Windows and Mac OS operation.
