Job Description

As a Software Test Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work together with a team of product managers and software developers to develop industry-leading commercial software known for its innovation and usability. You will be responsible for developing test strategy, creating and executing test plans to ensure the quality of the products.

In this position, you will be a key player in feature design, implementation, and testing. You will play an active role in all the stages of the development lifecycle and support your team throughout the process. You will also help ensure that developed products meet requirements and are within total quality management standards. This position will allow you to collaborate with multiple global cross-functional teams and may also require you to be the technical lead of a small-scale feature or portion of a feature.

Essential Functions

. Collects, contribute to and documents requirements for a feature and its components, ensuring the information required for the development of software and corresponding test cases are contained in the specifications.

. Develop test plans for new features or contribute to existing ones ensuring they meet the established product and process requirements

. Establishes a timeline and determines the resources needed to execute a test plan. Considers tradeoffs between requirements, speed, cost and coverage. Provides progress reports, as needed.

. Create test cases and related documents that meets the product quality requirements, including traceability.

. Creates test automation plans and automates required test cases.

. Conducts manual or automated tests, reports anomalies, and characterizes the anomalies properly based company quality criteria.

. Participate in reviews of requirement documents, test cases and user documentation.

. Build relationships and interact with peers to ensure assigned tasks are prioritized appropriately.

. Thinks outside the box and is willing to research and explore new avenues to overcome obstacles by utilizing the latest technologies and standards.

Minimum Qualifications

. Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent

. Typically requires a minimum of 2 years of working experience in a software product development environment

. Knowledge on software development Lifecycle and experience in working in Agile software development Life cycle using SCRUM or SAFe.

. Familiarity with CI/CD workflow and has worked in a CI/CD development environment and has used some of the CI/CD tools example Jenkins, Git.

. Able to apply knowledge of testing onto a cloud-based software product and have a basic understanding of Cloud base application architecture specifically Azure cloud architecture.

. Experience in writing test script using programing/scripting language like Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, C/C++.

. Direct experience with creating test plans and test cases for cloud-based software products familiar with manual and automated testing methodologies

. Direct experience with the Industrial Automation industry

. Direct experience in collaborating with local and global technical development teams

. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

. Direct experience in using test automation tools.

. Experience in using project management and wiki software like Jira and Confluence.

. Experience in programing Industrial Automation Programmable Controller.
