Team structure
We are an award-winning international Private Wealth team, based in Singapore within our international Employment, Pensions & Private Wealth (EPP) Practice Group. Our focus is to support international high net worth individuals and their families, businesses owners and entrepreneurs to preserve, protect and grow their wealth for future generations.
Our practice covers a broad range of services including estate planning, family offices, charitable giving, immigration and relocation, regulatory, funds and tax advice. This is a great opportunity for an ambitious tax, estates and private client tax lawyer to join and help continue to grow, the award-winning private wealth practice of a prestigious international law firm.
We are seeking an experienced lawyer, with sound drafting skills, a team player who is keen to learn and grow a dynamic private wealth practice. The chosen lawyer will:
- Receive one-on-one mentoring and career guidance.
- Gain broad based experience in legal practice covering both Singapore and English law with the opportunity to work on matters involving multi-jurisdictional issues.
- Work as part of a small and agile team that is passionate about private wealth and
- Join a market leading international law firm
Main responsibilities
- Clear, concise and unambiguous preparation and drafting of documentation.
- Preparing advice covering a range of private wealth topics.
- Managing cross-border transactions.
- Conducting legal research using internal and external knowledge management resources.
- Assisting in the preparation of legal articles.
- Liaison with clients under the supervision of a partner.
- Developing own informal internal and external network of contacts.
- Building excellent working relationships with clients and peers within Stephenson Harwood.
- Attending business development and profile-raising events (client seminars, graduate recruitment activities)
Attributes / Skills required
- Experienced qualified lawyer in either Singapore, or England & Wales.
- Ability to acquire, consolidate and apply fundamental and up-to-date knowledge of the law.
- Accuracy and attention to detail is a must.
- Excellent verbal and numerical communication skills.
- Organised and able to work with strict deadlines with the ability to prioritise realistically.
- Good housekeeping / file management practices manages and records time promptly and accurately.
- Resilient with the ability to handle setbacks, time sensitive tasks and pressure.
- A self-starter, able to work alone and within a small team.
- Ambitious, keen to work in a developing department and learn new skills.
- Cooperative and collaborative in approach with an ability to develop excellent working relationships at all levels.
- Operates professionally and proactively at all times

- Commercial awareness and sensitivity to client's needs.
