Associate Director - Quantum

Rimkus is a worldwide provider of engineering and technical consulting to corporations, insurance companies, law firms, and government agencies. Rimkus experts specialise in forensic consulting, dispute resolution and construction management services, solutions for the built environment, and human factors support for the consumer, industrial, and healthcare industries.

Rimkus is expanding its Asia-Pacific operations and is seeking to appoint an Associate Director Quantum within our Singapore Team . This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveying professional looking to advance their career within a claim's consultancy.

The role

You will work on a diverse range of commissions, either based in Rimkus's office or on-site with clients. Your role will span project advisory, claims consulting, and expert services.

In this role, you will provide commercial and contractual expertise to a diverse range of organisations. Our projects span across transport infrastructure, asset maintenance, utilities, and commercial building sectors. As a senior member of our team, you will take ownership of client relationships, managing their day-to-day needs. Our work primarily involves identifying and managing contractual entitlements and offering expert commercial insights into cost and program challenges.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• A qualification in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Accounting, Law, or a related discipline
• A minimum of 10 years industry experience working for a construction or engineering contractor and/or specialist consultancy in this area
• Project experience is essential
• Experience with writing and managing claims for Extensions of Time, Prolongation, and Disruption etc.
• Knowledge of FIDIC and NEC suite of contracts
• Insurance claims experience desirable but not essential
• Excellent letter and report writing skills
• The ability to communicate clearly and concisely to a non-technical audience
• The ability to process, model and present large data sets
• A capacity for analytical thinking and problem solving
• An ability work with a variety of people to achieve the correct outcomes for the client or project.

Our Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, project management, construction management or a related field
• Studying towards a professional accreditation with CIArb is preferred
• Minimum of 10 years post graduate experience working for a construction or engineering contractor or specialist claims consultancy. Project delivery experience is essential
• Experience working on contentious claims is highly regarded, especially arbitration and/or other formal claims resolution experience
• Excellent writing skills with the ability to draft large sections of professional reports
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to a non-technical audience
