Department Overview
The Global Markets Credit group is responsible for implementing and enforcing the Bank's credit policies related to derivative exposures and counterparty credit portfolios. The team supports the trading business through disciplined risk management, credit analysis, and close partnership with internal stakeholders across TD Securities.
Role Overview
The Credit Management Associate is a member of the Global Markets Credit team, working closely with Sales and Trading to support the origination and ongoing management of trading relationships. The role is responsible for credit analysis, structuring, and recommendation of credit and derivative facilities, as well as ongoing monitoring of counterparty risk across a diverse portfolio of clients.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the credit risk of an assigned portfolio of trading counterparties, primarily large financial institutions across Asia Pacific, including banks, asset managers, broker-dealers, and government-related entities.
Assess and monitor credit exposures across a range of products, including derivatives (FX, rates, commodities, equities, credit etc.), financing transactions (prime brokerage, securities lending, repos etc.), money market instruments, and direct credit facilities.
Prepare clear, well-supported credit submissions, including industry, market, and counterparty analysis, and provide sound credit and facility risk recommendations.
Partner with Sales and Trading, Global Transaction Banking, and other internal teams to ensure timely and appropriate credit support within the Bank's risk appetite.
Monitor portfolio performance, ensure compliance with approved limits and conditions, and proactively identify and address emerging credit risks.
Contribute to credit strategy, portfolio reporting, and initiatives aimed at improving efficiency, turnaround time, and overall risk management processes.
Maintain effective communication with stakeholders and deliver a high standard of client service.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum of 3 years of relevant credit or risk management experience.
Strong understanding of capital markets, derivative products, and associated market and credit risks.
Proven financial analysis and credit assessment skills.
Familiarity with trading and credit documentation (e.g., ISDA, GMRA, GMSLA, loan agreements) is preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills proficiency in English required, with Japanese language skills considered an advantage for potential communication need with Japanese institutional clients
Proficient in Bloomberg, credit related systems, and Microsoft Office.
MBA and/or CFA/FRM designation is an advantage.
