Job Description

  • Monitor Production Systems: Continuously monitor the health and performance of production applications using monitoring tools and dashboards.
  • Incident Management: Respond to and resolve application incidents, ensuring minimal impact on business operations. Document incidents and their resolutions.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with development, QA, and operations teams to identify and resolve application issues.
  • Performance Tuning:Analyze application performance and implement tuning measures to optimize system performance.
  • Deployment Support:Assist in the deployment of new releases and patches, ensuring minimal disruption to production services.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of application support procedures, incident resolutions, and system configurations.
  • User Support: Provide support to end-users and stakeholders, addressing their queries and issues related to production applications.
  • Continuous Improvement:Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance the efficiency and reliability of application support.

What makes you a successful candidate

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in an application support, system administration or related role
  • Hands on technical skills in the following areas:
  • Proficiency in modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, SQL)
  • Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog, Splunk)
  • Familiarity with database management systems (e.g., MSSQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle)
  • Knowledge of operating systems (e.g., Linux, Windows)
  • Familiarity of modern cloud-based technologies (e.g., AWS, Kubernetes)
  • Possess the following soft skills;
  • Stellar problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A team-oriented mindset with a dash of independence
  • Strong attention to detail and multitasking prowess
