Assistant Manager Ocean Procurement

About the role

E-Freight Global seeks a motivated Assistant Manager Ocean Procurement to support procurement operations and build a foundation in ocean freight carrier management. This entry-level role provides hands-on experience in rate processing, contract support, and carrier relationship development across FCL and LCL trades. You will work under the guidance of the Ocean Procurement Manager, assist with quotation management, documentation, and cost monitoring while developing expertise in APAC ocean freight procurement fundamentals.

Key responsibilities

. Process daily rate inquiries, RFQ requests, and quotation management for FCL and LCL trades

. Support contract administration and assist with carrier rate negotiations

. Maintain organized records of carrier agreements and contract terms

. Assist in tracking contract usage and basic cost analysis

. Update and monitor market intelligence on vessel schedules and space availability

. Prepare and organize tender documentation and compliance materials

. Follow up on space issues or service concerns with carriers as directed

. Coordinate with Sales and Operations teams to ensure timely and accurate procurement support

. Assist in preparing monthly procurement reports and maintain procurement data systems

Required qualifications

. Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field

. Fresher or up to 2 years of experience in logistics, procurement, or freight operations

. Basic understanding of FCL/LCL operations and shipping concepts

. Proficiency with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)

. Strong organizational and administrative skills

. Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment

. Attention to detail and accuracy in data management

Preferred qualities

. Any exposure to logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain operations

. Familiarity with ocean freight terminology and shipping documentation

. Basic knowledge of procurement systems or CRM platforms

. Eagerness to learn and develop expertise in ocean procurement
