What The Role Is

A cultural and architectural landmark in Singapore, the National Museum is Singapore's oldest museum, presenting innovative and inspiring exhibitions and programmes all year round. As the people's museum, we tell stories about Singapore and the World through exhibitions that combine accessibility and scholarship, making history and culture accessible for diverse visitors.

In this role, you are part of the public relations and engagement team, developing PR strategies as well as manage communications initiatives.

You will engage strategic stakeholders to maintain top-of-mind brand recall and raise awareness of the museum's offerings within their communities. You will also support the National Museum in cultivating international relations with its strategic partners. You are an unconventional thinker and team player who can work within tight deadlines while handling multiple projects. You have a keen interest in the museum and heritage sector and would like to contribute to Singapore's cultural landscape.

Responsibilities

What you will be working on

  • Plan, create and implement PR campaigns with the goal of raising awareness and appreciation of the museum, its exhibitions, programmes and other initiatives. This includes media engagement, influencer partnerships, community engagement tours, crisis communications, and measuring campaign effectiveness through KPIs.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with media and content creators, keeping their interest in promoting the museum and its initiatives among their communities.
  • Develop and cultivate international relations initiatives with strategic cultural and museum partners, including managing official visits as well as maintaining country cultural briefs and other documents as required.
  • Design and execute stakeholder engagement events to strengthen relationships and maintain ongoing engagement with key museum and exhibition partners and supporters.

What We Are Looking For

  • Preferably at least 5 years of relevant experience in public relations, digital marketing and integrated communications
  • Strong understanding of PR analytics and campaign measurement methodologies
  • Expertise in media relations across traditional and digital channels including media partnerships
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Strong cross-cultural communication skills and cultural sensitivity for international relations
  • Interest in the Arts and Heritage Sector
  • Experience in project management and government procurement will be advantageous
