Job Description

Assistant Manager (Events Operations) - 8 Months Contract

Salary: $3,800 - $4,500/month
Work Schedule: 42 hours/week (Mon-Fri)
Contract: 8 months
Start Date: Immediate

About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Manager to support the planning and execution of large-scale regional and ministerial events (e.g. conferences with up to 1,000+ attendees). The role focuses on event operations, coordination with stakeholders, and managing both on-site and virtual event experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Event Operations (70%)

  • Support event planning and coordination with programme owners for external venue activities
  • Work closely with event organisers and venue partners on logistics and operational planning
  • Ensure smooth ground operations and execution during events
  • Implement efficient workflows and timelines leading up to events

Virtual Event Experience (30%)

  • Manage virtual event platforms including setup, maintenance and reporting
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure information and programme updates are accurate
  • Liaise with event management companies and virtual platform vendors

General Duties

  • Participate in project meetings and progress updates
  • Liaise with government stakeholders and industry partners
  • Support event documentation, reporting and administrative tasks
  • Provide operational support for other programme activities when required

Requirements

Degree in any discipline
At least 4 years experience in event management, preferably large-scale conferences
Strong project coordination and multitasking abilities
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Comfortable managing on-site operations and handling real-time challenges
Familiar with virtual events, streaming tools or digital engagement platforms
Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
Experience working with public sector stakeholders is an advantage
