Overview
We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and commercially minded individual to lead the financial management of our residential business across Southeast Asia. This includes residential projects as well as the residential components of our premium integrated developments.
This role will oversee all finance-related activities across multiple joint ventures, working closely with JV partners, project teams, and senior leadership to drive strong financial governance, operational performance, and commercial outcomes.
The ideal candidate has deep experience in real estate, a strong understanding of JV structures, and a proven ability to partner with business and external stakeholders in a diverse, multicultural environment.
Key responsibilities
1. Financial operations and control
- Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting for the regional residential portfolio.
- Ensure accurate, timely, and insightful reporting to stakeholders.
- Maintain strong financial controls, compliance frameworks, and audit processes across all operating entities and JVs.
2. Finance business partnering
- Work with country heads and local teams to evaluate project performance, manage risks, and drive profitability.
- Provide financial leadership on pricing strategies, sales performance analysis, project cost reviews, and portfolio performance.
3. Treasury
- Work closely with JV teams to negotiate with banks on project financing.
- Ensure the Group's Treasury policies are adhered to as well as compliance of loan covenants and undertakings.
- Work with Group Treasury to prepare approval papers for project financing.
4. Joint venture management
- Oversee the financial governance of multiple joint ventures across Southeast Asia, ensuring compliance with JV agreements and financial controls.
- Partner closely with JV partners to address commercial and financial matters.
- Participate in JV board and committee meetings, representing the company's financial perspective and safeguarding shareholder interests.
5. Leadership and mentorship
- Lead and mentor regional finance teams to strengthen technical competencies, and collaboration.
- Coach team members and support their development in areas such as financial analysis and stakeholder management.
- Foster a high-performance culture built on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Provide guidance on complex / cross-functional issues.
6. Others
- Provide support on new investments / disposals as required.
- Other adhoc analysis and tasks.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field professional qualification (CPA/CA/ACCA) preferred.
- 10-15+ years of relevant experience, ideally in real estate.
- Strong experience working with joint ventures, including governance, reporting, and stakeholder management.
- Strategic business acumen, excellent analytical, and commercial evaluation skills.
- Proven track record in regional roles, managing multiple entities across different markets.
- Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building abilities.
- Ability to operate in a dynamic, multicultural, matrix environment.
