Job Description

Are you a finance professional with strong accounting expertise and a passion for process excellenceJoin our growing team as an Assistant Finance Manager, where you'll play a key role in ensuring financial integrity, managing audits, and supporting strategic financial operations across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Accuracy:

  • Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).
  • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are properly recorded.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Support internal reporting requirements and provide financial insights for management decision-making.

Audit & Compliance:

  • Lead and manage the external audit process as the primary liaison with auditors.
  • Prepare required audit schedules and supporting documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Address and resolve audit queries in a timely manner.
  • Review audit findings and implement corrective actions to enhance compliance and control.

Internal Controls & Financial Governance:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal control systems to ensure compliance and mitigate financial risks.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of financial procedures and policies to identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Ensure strict adherence to statutory regulations, tax laws, and corporate policies.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Supervise and mentor junior finance team members, providing guidance, support, and professional development.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the team meets financial deadlines and performance targets.

Budgeting & Forecasting:

  • Assist in the preparation, consolidation, and monitoring of annual budgets.
  • Track budget performance and provide timely variance analysis with recommended corrective actions.
  • Prepare rolling forecasts and support scenario planning to aid business strategy.

Working Capital & Intercompany Transactions:

  • Monitor and manage working capital to ensure liquidity and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee cash flow, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and inventory levels.
  • Manage intercompany transactions across subsidiaries and regional entities, ensuring accurate reconciliation and timely settlement.
  • Identify and implement improvements to streamline intercompany processes and reduce discrepancies.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Support finance leadership in strategic initiatives, reporting, and ad-hoc financial projects.
  • Stay updated with financial regulations and industry developments to ensure continued compliance and relevance.

Job Requirements

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience in financial reporting, audit management, and accounting operations.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting standards (IFRS, GAAP) and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel working knowledge of financial systems such as Oracle NetSuite is an advantage.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Proven track record in driving accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency in financial processes.

Preferred:

  • CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional certification.
  • Prior experience in managing intercompany transactions and working capital.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team development skills.
  • Experience implementing finance process improvements or automation tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset.
