Job Description

About the Role:
You will work closely with SHE's management and executive committee to develop, coordinate, and implement communications strategies in the women's development and online safety sectors. As the most senior communications professional in a team of 17, you will be the driving force behind SHE's voice - shaping and amplifying our impact in addressing online harms and advancing gender equality. This role is both strategic and hands-on: you will refine and execute our brand and communications strategy, oversee campaign development, manage creative and PR partners, and ensure consistent, high-quality messaging across the organisation. You will report directly to the CEO and collaborate horizontally across all teams. This is a 6-month contract with potential for extension. This position is only for SG/PR.

Why Join SHE
SG Her Empowerment (SHE) is an independent non-profit dedicated to empowering women and girls and supporting targets of online harms. Our vision is to create a safe and equitable tomorrow for every person to thrive. Through community engagement, research, strategic partnerships and advocacy, SHE drives lasting, purposeful change. At SHE, your work directly contributes to building a more inclusive and empowering future for girls and women in Singapore. You'll be part of a passionate, collaborative team that values innovation, impact, and integrity. If you are motivated by mission-driven work and want to make a tangible difference, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Be Doing:

Strategic Communications & Brand Management

Content Creation & Editorial Oversight

  • Lead the development and production of in-house written content, including social media posts, thought pieces, speeches, reports, newsletters, and press materials.
  • Manage outsourced creative work (e.g., videos, animations, design assets), ensuring quality and brand alignment.
  • Uphold strong editorial standards across the organisation.

Campaigns & Publicity

  • Lead and execute communications campaigns end-to-end - from insights and brief development to rollout and evaluation.
  • Work closely with the appointed creative and PR agencies to plan and deliver major public education and advocacy campaigns.
  • Identify opportunities to amplify SHE's work, including platform partnerships, thought leadership moments, and advocacy windows.

Media & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Support media outreach efforts, working collaboratively with the PR agency while maintaining your own relationships with journalists and editors.
  • Respond to incoming media queries and prepare spokespeople with key messages and briefs.
  • Monitor public sentiment and media trends to inform comms strategy.

Internal Communications & Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Work with all departments to surface stories, align messaging, and ensure seamless communication.
  • Strengthen internal communication flows and support senior leadership in preparing key organisational announcements.

Team Leadership & Budget Oversight

  • Supervise at least one full-time staff member and manage interns as needed.
  • Manage communications budgets, including vendor contracts, campaign spends, and creative production costs.
  • Guide team members in developing strong comms instincts, good writing, and strategic thinking.

What We're Looking For:

Personal Attributes

  • Strong stakeholder management and consensus-building across diverse groups
  • Agile and composed under pressure comfortable with ambiguity and able to work independently
