Job Description

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Japanese cuisine or fish preparation will be highly regarded
  • Previous experience in a sushi or omakase restaurant is an advantage
  • Ability to communicate in Japanese will be considered a plus

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist chefs in daily food preparation, including washing, peeling, cutting, and portioning ingredients
  • Maintain a high level of kitchen hygiene and ensure all utensils, equipment, and work areas are properly cleaned and organized
  • Manage waste disposal, replace trash bags, and clean waste bins regularly
  • Sweep and mop kitchen areas as needed, ensuring a clean and safe working environment
  • Store and label all food items according to food safety and hygiene standards
  • Liaise with suppliers and assist in ordering kitchen ingredients and supplies as required

Requirements:

  • Strong sense of responsibility, discipline, and attention to detail
  • Positive work attitude and eagerness to learn
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to perform efficiently under a fast-paced and demanding environment
