Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Japanese cuisine or fish preparation will be highly regarded
- Previous experience in a sushi or omakase restaurant is an advantage
- Ability to communicate in Japanese will be considered a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist chefs in daily food preparation, including washing, peeling, cutting, and portioning ingredients
- Maintain a high level of kitchen hygiene and ensure all utensils, equipment, and work areas are properly cleaned and organized
- Manage waste disposal, replace trash bags, and clean waste bins regularly
- Sweep and mop kitchen areas as needed, ensuring a clean and safe working environment
- Store and label all food items according to food safety and hygiene standards
- Liaise with suppliers and assist in ordering kitchen ingredients and supplies as required
