Overview

In MCAPS Finance, we're driving shareholder value in 54 subsidiaries & 120 Sales Locations and carry the local accountability for the financials as well as statutory and compliance matters across all Microsoft commercial segments and products. We:

  • Land the company vision around the transformation of our business and customer orientation in the subsidiaries and externally.
  • Drive strategic resource allocation and investments through local insights, ensuring optimal returns aligned with our worldwide strategy. Key focus is on New Business and consumption with an industry and workload perspective.

This is a key role responsible for ensuring effective communication and understanding of financial and business performance across our most strategic partners and FSI Industry. This role will track and report on the post sales performance at the aggregate Microsoft level versus the deal plan of record, provide financial insights for Asia regional FSI projects, and participate and influence business decisions to maximize return on investments. This will be done through knowledge of the strategy, business model, organization and market.

Responsibilities

  • Provide financial insights for FSI Initiative. Partner closely with Asia RVP, Asia CFO, Asia SPT Lead and Asia Tiger team to define the deal structure, list of targeted accounts, sizing opportunities, develop financial model with the phased investment plans, coordinate with corp finance stakeholders on landing the unique deal structure and enable financial reporting and analysis for the key growth initiatives.
  • Providing support Asia EPS Lead on broader strategic Partner agreement and support the strategic growth of GSI and ISVs in Asia.
  • Monitor the healthy execution of Japantop 3 accounts with sell-in and sell-through agreements of $1B+ (NEC, NTT, Toyota). Expand over time to other prospects with $1B+ opportunity (Fujitsu, Softbank, Hitachi, Sony, Panasonic, Fast Retailing). Accelerate ACR growth of downstream accounts.
  • Ensure high governance and engagement across multiple senior stakeholders for Telstra:Australia's largest Telco with extensive customer base in our market. Largest ECIF award outside of US ($70M), multiple pillars to the strategic agreement including sell to, sell thru and balance of trade commitments. Challenging partner/customer to deal with and currently not meeting their commitments.
  • Expand attention to more key deals and projects in other Areas in Asia over time.
  • Tracking of quarterly performance of the above mentioned deals, coordinating with local GTM and finance teams. Where the rhythm applies, Weekly updates, monthly outlook, quarterly forecast cycles and annual budgeting internally within Microsoft and with the GPS Finance teams.
  • Tracking of post sales performance at aggregate Microsoft level versus deal plan of record. Weekly updates, monthly outlook, quarterly forecast cycles and annual budgeting.
  • Custodian of deal and partnership P&L's influencing executives to drive decision making and maximising investments.
  • Partners with our Customer success unit and Account team to support Microsoft and Customer Governance Board to ensure project investments are realised and pipeline is managed in line with guidance.
  • Co ownership of the compliance agenda from both a deal execution and spend management.

Key Skills

  • Understanding of key finance and operational processes to be able to piece together the bigger picture within a particular deal construct.
  • Understanding on compliance requirements in Microsoft and accounting principles to be able to identify where escalation of SME intervention may be required.
  • Communication skills to be able to liaise with various stakeholders across a variety of teams and levels and external companies.
  • Influencing skills to land the best decision for Microsoft with the requirements of the DAs.
  • Tenacity and problem solving.
  • It will need an ability to drop down into the detail but also then represent and discuss with exec teams the broader picture. Being able to prioritize within this is important.
  • Ability to influence other teams within a matrix organization, build relationships and suggest right next steps.

Key Partners

  • Asia RVP, Asia CFO, Asia FSI team and Asia EPS Lead.
  • Engineering and respective finance partners to align on resource views supporting delivery.
  • Asia Could Solution Areas and Segment Finance teams.
  • ISD Delivery and Finance and alignment on deal margin.
  • Cross Finance P&L consolidation including consumption, engineering and ISD resources compared to deal plan of record.
  • MCAP Sales leadership ensuring Account Operating Unit is supporting post sales consumption goals.
  • Microsoft Business Operations who support systematic change by building and operating systems supporting product launches.

Key Success Factors

  • Effective Communication: Ensuring clear and consistent communication of financial and business performance across all stages of the post-sales/Post DA lifecycle, with both corp finance (MSIO, Product Finance, MCAPS HQ, OU CFOs, Partners CFO).
  • Performance Tracking: Regularly tracking and reporting performance metrics against the plan of record to provide accurate updates and forecasts.
  • Influence and Decision-Making: Using financial insights to influence executive decision-making or drive strategic investments.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 10+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 8+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR equivalent experience
  • Ability to influence, establish credibility, trust, and partnership at all levels of the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in finance positions.
  • Ability to operate and thrive in a fluid/uncertain environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to details.
