APAC Head of Environment, Safety & Health (ESH) - Leading Chemical Company

Description

We are partnering with a leading global chemical company to appoint a Regional Head of ESH for Asia Pacific. This is a pivotal leadership role where you will be responsible for setting and driving the full spectrum of ESH strategies across the region, aligned with both global and regional direction. Based in Singapore, you will report to the Regional Managing Director and functionally to the Global ESH Leader.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will provide vision, consultation, audit oversight, training, and strategic direction to foster continuous improvement and best practices across diverse operations. A strong focus will be placed on cultivating a culture of behavioural safety - embedding the mindset that safety is everyone&aposs responsibility, and ensuring sustainable practices that protect people, assets, and the environment.

You will play a critical role in strengthening ESH frameworks across Asia Pacific, ensuring regulatory compliance, robust process safety standards, and proactive risk management in industries where process safety is paramount. Collaborating with local ESH leaders and business functions, you will embed safety into everyday operations, oversee emergency preparedness, and influence organisational behaviour to achieve a workplace free of hazards.

Requirements

We are looking for an accomplished leader with extensive experience in regional ESH management, ideally within industries that demand a strong process safety focus such as chemicals, oil & gas, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, power generation, or advanced manufacturing. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise in ESH regulations, compliance, and risk mitigation with strong interpersonal and influencing skills, able to work confidently with stakeholders at all levels and across diverse cultures.
