As a HSE, Engineer, you will be trusted with the Health, Safety and Environment of Alcon Manufacturing & Logistics Plant.
In this role, a typical day will include:
- Deploy Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) programmes:
- Implement HSE Management System (HSEMS) and risk management (RM) plans.
- Implement programmes to steer HSE culture, habits and norms of the organisation.
- Clarify HSE programme requirements with employees of other departments. Develop HSE training programmes and conduct trainings for safety-critical roles
- Manage Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) performance:
- Carry out HSE compliance inspections.
- Support audit process.
- Evaluate HSE non-compliance, unsafe work conditions and practices to identify HSE performance gaps.
- Evaluate impact of HSE hazards, including personal risk factors to employees safety & prioritize issues based on severity.
- Report findings of HSE compliance inspections and routine checks.
- Recommend and implement actions to improve HSE performance and control risks.
- Review effectiveness of implemented improvements on an on-going basis.
- Develop Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) management systems:
- Coordinate HSE programme initiatives.
- Develop and deliver safety briefings.
- Monitor implementation progress of recommended HSE improvements.
- Stay abreast of legislative requirements and alert of any changes. . Develop risk management (RM) plans for work processes and work areas.
- Establish RM & risk assessment (RA) teams within respective work processes & areas.
- Manage Crisis Management:
- Implement emergency preparedness and response plans (EPRPs) & communicate plans to stakeholders.
- Coordinate EPRP drills and maintenance of emergency response equipment.
- Conduct HSE incident and accident investigations.
- Review investigation findings to identify causes of incidents and accidents.
- Propose corrective and preventive measures to address root cause of incidents.
- Prepare incident and accident reports.
- Monitor implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:
- Degree in Safety, Health and Environmental Management/ Workplace safety and Health with 1-2 years of working experience in a similar HSE role/ those without experience can be considered as training will be provided
- Diploma in EHS field with 5-7 years of relevant experience in manufacturing setting
- WSH Level B Advanced Certificate preferred
- Knowledge of GMP would be advantageous
- Comfortable to work at Tuas South (transport from Boon Lay, Kranji and Outram Park mrt)
