1.OVERALL SUMMARY
1.1 This function will be responsible for supporting EUA carbon credit trading & reporting activities, biofuel procurement and Fuel EU reporting, pooling, and monetisation. It also involves supporting various decarbonisation analyses across the organisation.
1.2 The position requires a comprehensive understanding of the DCS and MRV compliance process and other relevant emissions regulations (EU ETS, FuelEU, IMO GFI)
2.AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
EU ETS / EUA Analytics and trading:
2.1 Maintain expertise in EU ETS Maritime, becoming internal topic expert to lead related reporting and analysis initiatives
2.2 Analyse carbon credit markets to identify trends and opportunities.
2.3 Execute and manage trades related to EUA procurement.
2.4 Provide detailed reports and insights on carbon credit performance.
Procurement of Biofuel & bio-LNG Feedstock:
2.5 Monitor market trends and recommend procurement strategy adjustments to minimize procurement cost, as necessary.
2.6 Analyse and compare different procurement options to identify most cost-efficient option
Fuel EU Pooling, Monitoring, and Running:
2.7 Develop and maintain expertise in FuelEU regulation (become internal topic expert), developing related ship and fleet level analysis as required to support strategic, commercial and technical initiatives.
2.8 Monitor Fuel EU position of vessels and fleet, ensuring compliance with regulations.
2.9 Monitor and manage the performance of pooled resources.
Monetisation of Pooling:
2.10 Support execution of strategies to monetise FuelEU pooled resources effectively.
2.11 Track and report on the financial performance of pooling activities.
Decarbonisation projects:
2.12 Support execution of various analyses related to the decarbonisation activities of the company. including monitoring performance of existing projects or analysing viability of new projects.
3.QUALIFICATION / EXPERIENCE
- Degree or Diploma, preferably in environmental science, Sustainability, Finance, Economicsor equivalent.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in, EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS), and energy products.
- Strong understanding of Fuel trading, carbon markets and related markets.
- Familiarity in shipping and knowledge of industry practices.
- Proficiency in carbon analytics and data interpretation.
- Strong organisational and project management abilities.
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, reporting skills and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools for carbon analytics and reporting.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
