Job Description & Requirements
We are seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Air Cargo Officer to join our operations team. This role is essential in supporting air cargo export build-up and handling, ensuring compliance with aviation safety standards while maintaining efficiency and quality in cargo preparation for outbound flights.
You will be working in an airside environment, performing cargo handling duties, operating equipment, and supporting export procedures in accordance with strict safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
Safety & Work at Height
- Comply with all aviation safety regulations and company policies during cargo handling and build-up operations.
- Ensure proper use of PPE at all times (safety boots, gloves, uniform, and security passes).
- Operate order picker equipment with safety harness for handling cargo at height (training provided if required).
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Perform general housekeeping and basic maintenance within the designated cargo area.
Export Cargo Build-Up & Handling
- Assist in loading and unloading cargo for export operations.
- Prepare cargo for shipment, including:Applying plastic sheets, edge boards, honeycomb panels, and industrial tapeSecuring cargo using airline nets and straps in accordance with safety standards
- Conduct visual inspections of airline nets, pallets, and cargo for damages or discrepancies.
- Accurately label cargo (MAWB labels) based on provided instructions.
- Coordinate with tractor drivers and warehouse teams to ensure smooth cargo flow.
- Monitor and manage inventory of packing materials (e.g., tapes, nets, straps, plastic sheets).
- Ensure unused materials are returned to designated storage areas after operations.
- Support timely execution of export schedules in line with flight timings and deadlines.
Requirements
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in air cargo handling or a related field (aviation/aerospace preferred).
- Comfortable working at height and operating lifting equipment.
- Familiar with export cargo preparation standards and aviation safety protocols.
- Physically fit and able to perform manual handling tasks in an outdoor/airside environment.
- Good communication skills and a strong team player with a responsible work attitude.
- Willing to work rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
