Roles and Responsibilities
The Accounts Executive/Assistant reports to the Finance manager.
He/She covers duties such as works that are specific to accounts receivable and other accounting tasks. He/She may be called on to participate in ad-hoc finance-related works when necessary.
- Manage the daily operations of the accounts receivable function, including receipt of payments, and tracking of receivables.
- Maintain up-to-date customer files daily and at monthly accounts closing.
- Follow-up on, collect, and allocate payments and reporting activities according to specific deadlines.
- Perform account reconciliations.
- Monitor customer accounts for non-payments and/or delayed payments.
- Communicate with customers via phone, Whatsapp and email to ensure prompt payments.
- Work closely with other departments on overdues.
- Daily verifying of cash, cheques, and e-payments received from customers including cash-counting for cash received from customers.
- Enter new customers a/c opening and existing customers a/c updating in system.
- Cash-flows updating.
- Assist in maintenance of account schedules.
- Ensure timely closing of accounts receivables.
- Assist in other ad-hoc accounting works.
- Support AR/GL Executive and perform her roles if she is on leave.
Job Requirements
- Diploma in Accounting, bookkeeping or equivalent, LCCI, AAT, N or O Level graduate, secondary school leaver.
- Candidates with at least several years of experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable and general accounting works, with aspiration and comfort to work and excel in AR management.
- Good understanding of accounting principles.
- Knowledge or experience in operating Sage preferred but not a must.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Detail-oriented and high degree of accuracy in financial record-keeping.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
