Job Summary
An Account Assistant supports the accounting department by handling basic financial tasks and ensuring accurate financial documentation. This role helps ensure smooth financial operations within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Maintain financial records, ledgers, and journals to ensure accurate accounting data
- Process invoices, payments, and receipts to support timely financial transactions
- Execute accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to manage cash flow
- Reconcile bank statements and resolve financial discrepancies to maintain accuracy
- Process payroll to ensure timely and accurate employee compensation
- Organize and maintain physical and digital filing of financial documents for easy retrieval
- Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and internal departments regarding financial matters to facilitate smooth operations
- Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations to uphold standards
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices to support financial tasks
- Proficiency in MS Excel and QuickBooks Online for efficient financial management
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing financial information
- Good organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks effectively
- Basic mathematical and analytical skills to support financial calculations and analysis
- Effective communication skills to liaise with stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Familiarity with financial reporting and bookkeeping to assist in record keeping
- Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance to support adherence to legal requirements
