Job Description

About the role

As an Accounting Manager at Industrious (APAC), you will own the full accounting function for The Great Room (TGR) and its entities across the region. You will operate as a key member of the broader Industrious global finance organization, partnering closely with the US-based controllership team to drive timely, accurate financial reporting and continuous process improvement. You will have significant involvement in expansion of APAC businesses, drive processes and policy across the company.

A successful Accounting Manager will be a disciplined and collaborative accounting leader who ensures timely and accurate books for the APAC entities while operating within the global controllership structure at Industrious. This role is accountable for the monthly close process, balance sheet integrity, and cross-regional coordination — working in close partnership with the US accounting team to align on policies, processes, and reporting requirements.

The Accounting Manager will report to the APAC Controller.

What you'll do

Own the Accounting Close

  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accounts are fully supported, reconciling items are resolved promptly, and findings are escalated as appropriate
  • Coordinate close timelines and deliverables across the APAC accounting team, holding the team accountable to deadlines and escalating risks to the Controller on a timely basis
  • Drive process improvements to support an accelerated close cycle, identifying and eliminating bottlenecks while maintaining accuracy and control
  • Prepare and deliver accurate financial reports and close packages on schedule, supporting group consolidation and management reporting needs

Partner with Global Finance

  • Partner closely with the US-based Industrious accounting team on close coordination, intercompany transactions, and regional reporting, ensuring APAC deliverables integrate seamlessly into the consolidated financials
  • Align APAC accounting practices with Industrious global accounting policies and reporting requirements, escalating deviations and supporting standardization efforts across the global controllership function
  • Actively participate in global finance initiatives, including systems implementations, process standardization, and internal controls improvements

Direct with Charisma

  • Hire, manage and motivate the Accounting team members, serving as a coach and a team player
  • Be a force of nature that pushes boundaries, possibilities, quality and deadlines by always being warm but demanding in a professional manner
  • Maintain a calm disposition, even (and especially) during stressful situations. Be optimistic and help other stakeholders and consultants do so as well

Be a Guardian

  • Serve as the primary APAC liaison for internal/external auditors, coordinating audit deliverables in alignment with the group audit timeline and requirements
  • Ensure compliance with and advice on group financial and management accounting policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with and provide advice on group treasury/reserves/banking policy and asset management
  • Manage the Group's statutory taxation obligations (ie. Income Tax, GST, etc.), with responsibility for liaising with the tax agent for document preparation and submission
  • Stay up to date and comply with regulatory changes and requirements specific to the local regulations
