Accounting & Tax Manager at Bestar plays a pivotal role in bridging technical compliance with high-level business advisory. This position requires a hands-on leadership approach to ensure that client portfolios—including complex structures like MNCs and international subsidiaries—remain in strict adherence to ACRA and IRAS regulations.

- Key Focus: Management of a diverse client portfolio, team leadership, and high-level tax advisory.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Portfolio Management
- Oversee the full spectrum of accounting functions for a dedicated portfolio of clients, ensuring timely delivery of management reports and audited/unaudited financial statements.
- Ensure all financial reporting is strictly compliant with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS).
- Manage complex accounting treatments, including group consolidations and inter-company reconciliations for larger corporate structures.
- Act as the primary advisor for clients on business structuring, internal controls, and corporate governance.
- Taxation & Regulatory Compliance
- Lead the preparation and review of Corporate Income Tax (CIT) filings (Form C / Form C-S) and Estimated Chargeable Income (ECI).
- Oversee quarterly GST (Form 5) submissions and provide specialist advice on GST registration or complex cross-border transactions.
- Provide advisory on Withholding Tax (WHT), Transfer Pricing documentation, and identify applicable tax incentives or government grants.
- Liaise directly with the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) and ACRA regarding queries, audits, or complex filing requirements.
- Leadership & Operations
- Mentor and manage a team of Senior Executives and Associates, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Review work done by team members to maintain the highest quality standards and technical accuracy.
- Drive process improvements through the adoption of cloud accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks) and automation tools.
- Coordinate year-end audit processes with external auditors to resolve technical issues efficiently.
Job Requirements
Education & Qualifications
- Degree: Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional Certification: CA Singapore, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent is highly preferred.
- Accreditation: SCTP (Singapore Chartered Tax Professionals) accreditation is a significant advantage.
Experience & Technical Skills
- Experience: Minimum 6–8 years of relevant experience in a professional accounting firm in Singapore, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep expertise in the Singapore Companies Act, Income Tax Act, and SFRS.
- Software: Proficiency in cloud-based accounting ecosystems and advanced MS Excel.
Soft Skills
- Leadership: Proven ability to manage multiple client deadlines and lead team members in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written English; proficiency in Mandarin is a plus to better serve regional or international clients.
- Client Centricity: Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain long-term relationships with MNCs and SME owners alike.
