The accountant will focus mainly on financial reporting, month-end closing, and compliance matters for multiple entities. This role supports the Head of Finance and ensures accurate and timely financial information.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the finance team to prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports for multiple entities
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow monitoring, and variance analysis to support financial planning
- Prepare audit schedules and financial statements, coordinating with external auditors to ensure compliance
- Compile consolidated unaudited financial statements for the holding company (dormant) and its overseas subsidiary
- Prepare GST submissions in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Support preparation of partnership and corporate tax schedules and other statutory filings
- Manage company secretarial and regulatory compliance matters to uphold governance standards
- Perform intercompany reconciliations and assist in group financial reporting processes
- Ensure adherence to accounting standards and internal policies through regular review and control
- Execute ad hoc finance duties as assigned by management to support operational needs
Required competencies and certifications
- Degree in accountancy, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification
- Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience, including at least 2 years in external audit
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel for financial data management and reporting
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Experience in shipping and/or brokerage industries
