(A)Job Summary:
The Site Accountant is responsible for managing financial and accounting operations at the construction site, including project cost control, progress payments, and documentation to ensure accurate and timely reporting in compliance with company and project requirements.
(B)Essential Job Functions:
The Site Accountant is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
- Handle day-to-day accounting operations for the project site.
- Consolidate and prepare and compile bi-weekly and monthly reports.
- Monitor project costs, expenditures, and ensure spending aligns with approved budgets.
- Prepare and verify subcontractor progress claims, invoices, payment certificates and assist in GST reporting.
- Record and track material deliveries, site purchases, and petty cash transactions.
- Maintain proper documentation of financial records, receipts, and supporting documents.
- Coordinate with the head office finance team on monthly closing, reports, and reconciliations.
- Assist in preparing site cash flow forecasts and project cost summaries.
- Support audits, site inspections, and internal financial reviews.
- Ensure compliance with company financial policies and procedures.
- Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Project Manager or Finance Manager.
(C)Minimum Qualifications/ Job Experience:
- Diploma / Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- At least 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in construction or site-based roles.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Build smart System.
- Familiar with project costing, claims verification, and construction documentation.
- Meticulous, organized, and able to work independently on site.
- Good communication and coordination skills with site and office teams.
