Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Accountant to join our Finance team. In this role, you will handle Accounts Payable and Purchasing duties, with strong exposure to overseas imports. Responsibilities
- Assist the Finance Manager in completing month-end and year-end financial closing activities to ensure accurate reporting
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations to maintain precise financial records
- Process supplier invoices and payments efficiently to manage Accounts Payable (AP)
- Issue customer invoices and follow up on collections to manage Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Ensure accurate revenue recognition for sales, service, and rental transactions in compliance with accounting standards
- Maintain schedules for unbilled revenue, advances, and accruals to support financial accuracy
- Assist in maintaining inventory and fixed asset records to ensure proper asset tracking
- Support preparation of management accounts and audit schedules to facilitate internal and external audits
- Ensure all documentation complies with GST requirements to meet regulatory standards
- Coordinate with sales, service, and operations teams to gather and verify accurate financial data
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Diploma or degree in accounting or a related field
- Experience handling overseas imports to support purchasing and financial processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data entry and basic formulas, to manage financial data
- Familiarity with ERP or accounting software such as Xero or Microsoft Dynamics Business Central/Navision to streamline accounting tasks
- Excellent communication skills in English to collaborate effectively within the team
- Ability to work independently within a small team environment to ensure task completion
