We are looking for a meticulous individual with strong numerical skills to join a reputable commodity trading firm as an Accountant. The ideal candidate should be well conversant in preparing for closing and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records in line with reporting standards and statutory requirements, including assessing and applying new accounting standards.
- Manage monthly closing and consolidation for timely and accurate financial and statutory reporting.
- Reconcile ledgers with trading systems and conduct variance analysis on financial results.
- Prepare financial reports, accounting schedules, and annual statements.
- Support external and internal audits, ensuring compliance with accounting and trading regulations.
- Contribute to finance system enhancements and BI tool implementation.
- Assist Finance/Senior Accounting Manager with ad-hoc analysis and tasks.
- Collaborate across departments to meet company objectives.
- May be required to support operations during peak periods like month-end close.
Key Requirements:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in Accounting or Finance.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and Sun/Horizon.
- A collaborative team player with the ability to work independently when required.
- Capable of handling pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and hands-on with a strong sense of accountability.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on accuracy and quality.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
