Job Description

We are looking for a capable, independent and hands-on Accountant to take the lead in managing all finance operations for Godiva and McVitie's in Singapore.

This is a standalone role where you will be the primary finance contact for the Singapore market. You will oversee the full spectrum of routine accounting activities, ensure timely reporting, and maintain compliance with local statutory requirements.

The scope is focused and clearly defined, making this role suitable for someone who enjoys ownership, can work confidently without close supervision, and prefers a structured and manageable set of responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the full set of accounts for the Singapore entity.
  • Oversee monthend closing, including preparing journals, reconciliations, P&L, and supporting schedules.
  • Prepare regular management reports with clear explanations of monthly results and variances.
  • Handle boutique commission calculations using established formulas and sales data.
  • Support yearly budgeting and forecasting, including variance analysis.
  • Coordinate and follow up on the annual audit process, ensuring compliance with internal and statutory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, tax filings, and internal control policies.
  • Liaise with internal teams, external auditors, government authorities, and other stakeholders as the key finance representative for Singapore.
  • Monitor daily cash positions, manage bank balances, and execute fund transfers as necessary, maintain rolling cashflow forecast to ensure sufficient liquidity to support business operation needs
  • Maintain organised financial records and recommend practical improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related Business discipline. CPA, ACCA or equivalent qualification is an advantage.
  • Minimum 35 years of finance/accounting experience, preferably from retail or FMCG industries.
  • Proficient in English and Mandarin (written & spoken).
  • Strong numerical sense, analytical thinking, and business acumen.
  • Able to work independently and manage, plan multiple tasks in a smallteam environment and meet deadlines with minimum supervision
  • Strong problemsolving ability with a handson mentality
  • Good teamwork, communication skills, and ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (particularly Excel) and experience with ERP/accounting systems.
  • High sense of responsibility, integrity, and attention to detail.
  • Candidate with more experience will be considered as Senior Accountant.
