About The Role:
The Account Director is a commercial role responsible for managing and growing key advertiser and agency relationships across the company's print, digital, social, and branded content platforms. This role partners closely with editorial, branded content, and production teams to deliver high-quality, credible, and effective advertising solutions while upholding the integrity and values of the publication.

Responsibilities:

Client & Agency Relationship Management

  • Serve as the trusted point of contact for key advertiser and media agency accounts.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with senior marketing, brand, and agency stakeholders.
  • Lead strategic account conversations, annual planning, and post-campaign reviews.
  • Act as the primary escalation point to resolve commercial or delivery issues.

Publishing & Media Solutions Strategy

  • Develop customised advertising and branded content solutions aligned with client objectives and audience relevance.
  • Drive integrated solutions across print, digital, newsletters, social, video, and special editorial features.
  • Collaborate closely with editorial and branded content teams to ensure content quality, compliance, and brand fit.
  • Ensure all commercial activities align with editorial guidelines, disclosure standards, and publishing ethics.

Revenue Growth & Account Development

  • Own and grow revenue from assigned key accounts through renewals, upselling, and cross-platform solutions.
  • Identify new commercial opportunities within existing accounts and priority advertiser categories.
  • Lead pitch development and presentations for key clients and agencies.
  • Monitor market trends and advertiser spend to inform account strategy.

Campaign Oversight & Delivery

  • Oversee end-to-end execution of advertising and branded content campaigns.
  • Ensure clear scopes of work, timelines, deliverables, and KPIs are agreed and met.
  • Review campaign performance reports and provide strategic recommendations to clients.
  • Work with operations and production teams to ensure smooth execution and on-time delivery.

Commercial & Financial Management

  • Manage account revenue targets, forecasts, and budgets.
  • Ensure accurate contracting, billing, and invoicing in partnership with finance.
  • Negotiate commercial terms, media rates, and long-term partnerships.
  • Drive sustainable profitability while protecting the publication's brand equity.

Industry & Brand Stewardship

  • Represent the publishing house professionally with advertisers, agencies, and at industry events.
  • Stay informed on publishing, media consumption, and advertiser trends.
  • Contribute insights to the development of new publishing products, audience solutions, and special issues.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in publishing, media sales, or account management.
  • Proven experience managing major advertiser and agency accounts.
  • Strong understanding of publishing environments, including print and digital media.
  • Preferably with a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, Journalism, Business, or a related field.
