Morgan Philips has been engaged on a retained basis by our client who is a well-regarded private construction and trading firm to identify a Finance Manager

The Role

This is a hands-on, high-visibility position for a finance professional who can operate with a high degree of autonomy. You will own the preparation of monthly management reporting and Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS) financial statements for both the Singapore HQ and the wider consolidated group, while acting as a trusted finance partner to regional and HQ leadership. The role suits someone self-directed and driven to build out reporting infrastructure across a multi-entity, multi-currency environment, with genuine scope to shape how the finance function operates as the group grows.

Key Responsibilities

Take ownership of accounting activity ensuring accuracy of the general ledger, journal entries, and closing cycles
Drive the month-end and quarter-end close independently, holding reporting deadlines firm
Review key reconciliations spanning balance sheet, intercompany, cash, and loan positions
Coordinate directly with outsourced accountants and local finance contacts across jurisdictions
Maintain a clean audit trail and proactively identify opportunities to improve the system setup
Deliver monthly management reporting packages independently, to a high standard of accuracy and on time
Convert local financial data into a consistent SFRS-based group reporting format
Ensure comparability of financial data across the group's various entities
Manage inputs from local teams and asset managers, chasing and resolving gaps proactively
Align closely with the Singapore HQ finance team on reporting standards and timelines
Use Prophix as the core platform for reporting, budgeting, and consolidation submissions
Lead the quarterly consolidation of group financials, end to end
Consolidate multiple legal entities and international branches accurately and on schedule
Manage intercompany eliminations, including loans, interest, management fees, and intra-group transactions
Validate reporting packages submitted by entities ahead of consolidation
Apply correct foreign currency translation in line with group methodology
Post and document consolidation adjustments, including SFRS alignment, reclassifications, and accruals
Keep the group consolidation structure current as entities, ownership stakes, or scope evolve
Reconcile consolidated equity, reserves, and intercompany balances
Contribute to the preparation of consolidated financial statements and disclosures
Champion ongoing improvements to consolidation processes, controls, and automation
Act as a genuine finance business partner to regional management and HQ, not just a reporter of numbers
Challenge financial data submitted by local teams and service providers where needed
Conduct analytical review of revenue, operating costs, and capex
Track core KPIs such as DSO, DIO, DPO, yield, and IRR
Own the budgeting and forecasting cycle within Prophix
Produce variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior periods, with clear commercial narrative
Present financial results and insights confidently to regional and HQ management
Bring forward analysis on group-level performance and financial position, proactively rather than on request
Continuously push for improvements in reporting quality and transparency
Ensure annual financial statements meet Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS) requirements
Translate local accounting treatments into SFRS-aligned adjustments, working closely with the Singapore HQ team
Build and maintain strong command of group accounting policy
Ensure accounting rules are applied consistently across all entities
Prepare technical accounting memos as needed
Track developments in SFRS and IRAS guidance, assessing the impact on group reporting
Ensure compliance with Singapore tax regulations including corporate income tax, GST, and withholding tax as well as requirements in other local jurisdictions, in coordination with the Singapore HQ Tax Team
Coordinate preparation and review of corporate income tax filings, GST, and withholding taxes across jurisdictions
Liaise with external tax advisors both locally in Singapore and across the region
Monitor tax positions, deferred taxes, and risks, with particular attention to IRAS requirements and Singapore's regulatory environment
Support the rollout of tax-efficient structures aligned with group strategy, alongside the Singapore HQ Tax Team
Maintain proper documentation for transfer pricing and intercompany transactions
Stay current on evolving tax legislation and regulatory changes affecting real estate investments in Singapore and the broader region

What We're Looking For

A self-starter who is comfortable operating independently across entities, with minimal day-to-day supervision
Ambitious and growth-minded, motivated to take ownership of the finance function as the group scales
Strong technical grounding in accounting, consolidation, and group reporting within a multi-entity structure
Solid familiarity with Singapore tax regulations and the broader regulatory landscape (IRAS requirements, GST, corporate compliance)
Working knowledge of SFRS, or the ability to quickly build fluency in it
Confident communicator, able to business-partner with regional and HQ stakeholders alike
Comfortable working across cultures and jurisdictions within a regional operating structure
