Singapore’s Hiring Landscape in February 2025: foundit Insights Tracker 

Overview of Hiring Activity 

The foundit Insights Tracker in Singapore saw a 5% annual decline in hiring activity between February 2024 and February 2025. 

However, hiring demand rose month-on-month, with a 3-point index gain, indicating short-term stabilisation. 

Hiring Trends by Industry (MoM numbers) 

9 out of 15 industries monitored showed growth over the last month. 

In Demand: 

Advertising & Media (+7%), Education (+7%), and Engineering, Construction, and Real Estate (+6%) drove the recovery, supported by digital campaigns and upskilling efforts. 

Facing Challenges: 

Oil & Gas, Import/Export, Shipping/Marine, Government/PSU/Defence, and FMCG remained stagnant (0%), pointing to a flat hiring trend across these segments. 

Hiring Trends by Functional Area (MoM numbers) 

Half of the 12 functional areas recorded hiring growth over the last month. 

In Demand: 

Software, Hardware & Telecom (+2%) and Legal roles (+1%) saw consistent hiring, with Legal registering a notable 19% YoY growth, amid rising regulatory and compliance needs. 

Facing Challenges: 

Functions like Finance & Accounts, Customer Service, and Hospitality Roles (0%) saw no movement, indicating stabilisation rather than growth.
