Singapore’s Hiring Landscape in June 2025: foundit Insights Tracker 

Overview of Hiring Activity 

The foundit Insights Tracker in Singapore recorded a 2% rise in hiring activity month-on-month in June 2025, even as demand remained 12% lower year-on-year. This reflects an ongoing shift toward consolidation and optimisation following prolonged cycles of workforce expansion. 

Hiring Trends by Industry (YoY numbers) 

9 out of 15 industries saw hiring growth over the month. 

In Demand: 

  • Hospitality & Travel (+6%) and Retail/Trade and Logistics (+4%) showed robust hiring linked to rising travel, tourism, and trade flows. 
  • IT, Telecom/ISP and BPO/ITES (+3%), BFSI (+3%), and Engineering & Real Estate (+3%) also contributed to the uptick, reflecting steady demand in core sectors. 

Facing Challenges: 

  • Most industries remained flat or saw marginal declines, such as Consumer Goods (-4%) and Import/Export (-8%), pointing to cautious supply-side dynamics. 

Hiring Trends by Functional Area (MoM numbers) 

10 out of 12 functional areas remained stable or grew. 

In Demand: 

  • Hospitality Roles (+6%), Customer Service (+3%), and Sales & BD (+2%) led the way, with continued demand for experience-driven roles. 
  • Engineering & Production (+3%) and Purchase/Logistics/Supply Chain (+3%) saw growth, tied to fulfilment and inventory strategies. 

Facing Challenges: 

  • Marketing & Communications (-1%) and HR & Admin (-1%) showed slight dips, suggesting cautious hiring for support functions amid budget reviews.
