Job Description:
Student Outreach, Mentoring and Engagement
The Youth Worker will work with the SDT to conductproactive student engagement during non-curriculum periods including recess,lunch breaks, and after-school. This involves building positive relationshipswith primary school students, and creating an inclusive environment thatpromotes school connectedness. The Youth Worker will observe studentinteractions and behaviours and support students with socio-emotional needs asidentified by the school. Any concerns regarding student welfare or behaviourshall be escalated to HOD/Student Management (SM), YHs or SH/SM or any of thedesignated school personnel in accordance with the school's protocols.
The Youth Worker will be responsible for the maintenanceand management of the school's A.S.P.I.R.E Room during recess, after school hours,and at stipulated times during school holidays. The responsibilities include:
Programme Planning and Activity Facilitation for A.S.P.I.R.E
The Youth Worker shall support the A.S.P.I.R.E programmeand work with the respective SDT members and A.S.P.I.R.E team of teachers to plan,enact, monitor and evaluate the efficacy of the programme to better support theschool's identified students.
This includes supporting the school in coordinating withexternal partner to curate or design and implement age-appropriate after-schoolactivities aligned with Singapore's Character and Citizenship Education (CCE) framework.In the absence of external partners, the Youth Worker may be tasked toindependentlydesign and implement activities that achieve the same intended outcomes.
Activities will encompass character development, social-emotionallearning, recreational sports, creative arts, and leadership development programmes.The Youth Worker must ensure all activities comply with MOE safety guidelines andschool policies, maintain attendance records, and adapt programmes to meet the diverselearning needs and backgrounds of students. The youth worker should also conductregular programme evaluation and feedback collection to assess the effectivenessof the programmes.
Resource and Inventory Management
The Youth Worker shall maintain and manage the inventoryof the programme resources including sports equipment, educational materials, craftsupplies, and any other items or equipment. This includes conducting regularstock checks, ensuring proper storage and maintenance of the equipment and preparingactivity materials in advance. The Youth Worker shall maintain accurate recordsof resource usage and coordinate with the school's administration team for the procurementof items.
