Job Description

The Youth Worker / Student Support Facilitator supportsprimary school students, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds, byproviding socio-emotional guidance, engagement activities, and collaborationwith school personnel and external agencies to promote student well-being anddevelopment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver daily engagement activities for studentsremaining after lessons to promote positive development and safe supervision
  • Facilitate enrichment activities, games, and values-baseddiscussions to enhance character and life skills such as emotional regulation,communication, problem-solving, and resilience
  • Build trusting relationships with students and provideactive listening, mentoring, and age-appropriate counselling support
  • Identify early signs of emotional or behavioural concernsand escalate to appropriate personnel
  • Collaborate with teachers, school counsellors, andspecialised staff to understand student needs and contribute to interventionplans
  • Communicate observations and concerns professionally andpromptly to school personnel
  • Liaise with parents/guardians to reinforce strategies andconnect families to community resources as needed
  • Engage with external social service agencies, family servicecentres, and youth organisations to support students with additional needs
  • Support implementation of agency-led programmes and maintainconfidentiality and professionalism in information sharing
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, observations, andinterventions for the after-school programme
  • Prepare resources and materials to ensure smooth dailyoperations of the school-based engagement programme
  • Consistently uphold child protection and safety protocolswithin the programme environment

Required competencies and certifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling,Child Development, Youth Work, or related disciplines

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Prior experience working with children or youth


Working Hours:

  • Mondays to Fridays: 12:30pmto 5:30pm.
  • Reporting hours may change to fit the school's needs.
