Job Summary
You will lead and execute workplace safety, health, and environmental control measures on project sites, ensuring compliance with regulations and company standards while promoting a safe and sustainable work environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Officer Regulations and the WSH Act including its subsidiary legislation
- Organize and document risk assessments for critical activities before work commencement to mitigate hazards
- Implement, maintain, and monitor work procedures aligned with the Company's Integrated Management System (IMS)
- Plan and execute WSHE activities and monthly safety promotion campaigns to enhance site safety culture
- Inspect work conditions regularly, identify unsafe practices, and enforce corrective actions promptly
- Serve as secretary for Site Monthly WSHE Committee Meetings, ensuring accurate documentation and follow-up
- Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date WSHE records for the site
- Ensure good housekeeping and adequate security measures are consistently upheld on site
- Verify that all machinery and plants are well-maintained and operated by competent personnel
- Ensure availability and diligent use of suitable personal protective equipment (PPE) for all site workers and visitors
- Maintain an updated register of all equipment and machinery on site
- Report any fatal or major accidents immediately to Head Office and relevant authorities
- Coordinate internal and external WSHE audits to ensure compliance and continuous improvement
- Conduct weekly joint WSHE inspections with subcontractors and prepare detailed HQ inspection reports
- Assist in organizing corporate social responsibility (CSR) events to support community engagement
- Assume Environmental Control Officer duties as per Environmental Public Health Act and Code of Practice for construction sites
- Prepare and submit Site Environmental Control Programmes to authorities prior to work commencement
- Organize environmental campaigns and training to promote worker engagement in environmental health standards
- Conduct daily site inspections to ensure environmental facilities and equipment are functional and compliant
- Identify and control disease vectors and rodents to maintain site hygiene
- Manage proper disposal of solid waste to minimize environmental impact
- Control noise, air, and water pollution in accordance with regulatory standards
- Ensure general housekeeping and proper drainage control to maintain site cleanliness and safety
- Oversee food hygiene standards in site canteens to protect worker health
- Prepare and submit monthly Site Environmental Control Reports to relevant authorities
- Coordinate environmental matters with Client's Representatives to align site practices with client expectations
- Support implementation of Green and Gracious Building Scheme (GGBS) initiatives on site
- Act as Assessor for daily Permit-To-Work submissions via e-PTW app or physical documentation for high-risk activities
- Perform any other duties as assigned by reporting officers
