Job Description

Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) Manager

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and maintain the Company's Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) Management System.
  • Ensure compliance with the Workplace Safety and Health Act, WSH Regulations, Code of Practice, and other applicable statutory requirements.
  • Advise Management on WSH policies, legal requirements and industry best practices.
  • Conduct workplace safety inspections, site audits, risk assessments and safety reviews to identify hazards and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Review and approve Risk Assessments (RA), Safe Work Procedures (SWP), lifting plans and method statements.
  • Investigate workplace accidents, dangerous occurrences and near misses, prepare investigation reports and recommend preventive measures.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors and government authorities (e.g. MOM, WSH Council, SCDF and NEA) on all WSH-related matters.
  • Organise and conduct safety inductions, toolbox meetings, emergency drills and WSH training programmes.
  • Monitor compliance with Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems and site safety requirements.
  • Lead and supervise the Company's WSH personnel to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Prepare and submit WSH reports, statistics and documentation required by Management and regulatory authorities.
  • Ensure timely reporting of workplace incidents and statutory notifications.
  • Promote a positive safety culture through regular safety campaigns and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in maintaining ISO 45001, bizSAFE and other relevant management system certifications.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by Management.

Job Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Workplace Safety & Health, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO) with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM).
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience in the construction, engineering, heavy lifting or logistics industry.
  • Good knowledge of the Workplace Safety and Health Act and relevant Singapore regulations.
  • Familiarity with ISO 45001, bizSAFE and WSH Management Systems will be an advantage.
  • Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively.
