Job Summary
Lead and execute health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures on company and project sites to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and promote a safe working environment.
Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures, and guidelines at company and project sites, including reviewing and recommending improvements.
- Ensure full compliance with current Workplace Safety, Health and Environmental regulations by maintaining accurate safety records, certificates, notices, and official WSHE correspondence.
- Investigate, analyze, and determine causes of incidents, accidents, or dangerous occurrences during work processes and recommend preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
- Organize and lead safety meetings, briefings, and toolbox talks at project sites, including delivering safety training to site personnel.
- Prepare and review comprehensive Risk Assessments in collaboration with the project management team to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Conduct regular site inspections to assess safety compliance and oversee timely follow-up actions to address identified issues.
- Report incidents and accidents to management and maintain detailed project accident statistics for continuous safety improvement.
- Manage all routine safety and health issues on site, ensuring proactive resolution and adherence to safety standards.
- Liaise effectively with site teams, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities on Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) matters to ensure alignment and compliance.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support overall safety objectives and company goals.
Required competencies and certifications
- Completion of a MOM-approved Workplace Safety and Health Coordinator (WSHC) training course with competency certificates and registration with MOM.
- Minimum 2-3 years of site experience in safety coordination within the building construction industry.
- Physical fitness to perform site visits and inspections as required.
