About the Role We are seeking a diligent and experienced WSH Coordinator to maintain a rigorous safety culture at our construction site. You will be the primary custodian of our Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) standards, ensuring full compliance with the Workplace Safety and Health Act and driving our Zero Accident initiatives.
Roles & Responsibilities (Core Duties)
Regulatory Compliance: Enforce all WSH requirements, Environmental Control regulations, and in-house safety rules in strict accordance with the Singapore WSH Act and MOM guidelines.
Site Surveillance: Conduct daily safety checks and regular site inspections to identify unsafe conditions, behaviors, or environmental hazards enforce immediate corrective actions.
Permit Management: Oversee the Permit-to-Work (PTW) system, ensuring high-risk activities (e.g., lifting, working at heights) are properly authorized and risk assessments are communicated.
Training & Education: Conduct daily toolbox meetings, safety inductions for new workers, and mass safety briefings to heighten awareness of potential site hazards.
Reporting & Documentation: Maintain comprehensive safety reports, inspection logs, and accident/incident records. Ensure all documentation is audit-ready.
Subcontractor Management: Maintain close communication with subcontractors to ensuring their work methods (RA/SWP) align with the project's master safety plan.
Emergency Response: Act as a key member of the site emergency response team and coordinate drills.
Requirements
1. Education & Certification
Essential: Must possess the Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health (Level B) or the Advanced Certificate in WSH (Safety Coordinator).
Preferred: A Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Building Construction, or Environmental Health & Safety is advantageous.
Safety Cards: Valid Occupational First Aid, Work at Heights (Supervisor), and Supervise Construction Work for WSH (BCSS) certifications are highly preferred.
2. Experience
Minimum 3-5 years of relevant working experience in local (Singapore) construction projects (LTA/HDB/Private projects).
Demonstrated experience in accident investigation and hazard identification.
3. Skills & Knowledge
Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of current Singapore WSH regulations, ISO 45001 standards, and Environmental Control Officer (ECO) requirements.
IT Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and ability to use digital safety reporting tools/apps for documentation.
4. Language & Communication (TAFEP Compliant)
English: Good written and verbal communication skills are required to prepare formal safety reports and communicate with management.
Second Language: Proficiency in Chinese is strongly preferred to effectively conduct safety briefings and communicate instructions to a multilingual collaborative workforce and subcontractors on-site.
5. Soft Skills
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced site environment.
Strong leadership skills with the confidence to stop work if safety is compromised.
Excellent interpersonal skills to manage diverse teams and conflict resolution.
