Job Responsibilities
Support the Safety Officer in the development and implementation of workplace safety and health (WSH) policies and procedures
Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with statutory requirements
Organize and conduct safety training sessions for all levels of staff
Investigate incidents and accidents to identify root causes and recommend preventive measures
Maintain comprehensive records of safety audits, incidents, training, and compliance documents
Collaborate with staff and management to drive continuous improvements in safety practices
Perform risk assessments and implement practical mitigation strategies
Develop, update, and coordinate emergency response plans and conduct drills
Take the lead or assist in safety-related initiatives and projects
Keep up-to-date with changes in WSH regulations, industry safety standards, and emerging trends
Requirements
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in workplace safety and health
Diploma or Degree in Engineering/ Environmental Health Safety or related discipline
WSQ Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health (Level B)
Valid Building Construction Supervisor Safety (BCSS) certificate
Extensive knowledge of relevant legislative requirements, regulations, ISO45001 and ISO14001 and industry best practises
In-depth knowledge of the Workplace Safety and Health Act and statutory requirements
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills to assess hazards and implement control measures
High level of dedication to safety excellence and continuous improvement
Confine space Certified
Work at heights Certified
Bizsafe 2 Certified
