Job Description

Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO)

Salary: $5,000 - $6,000 per month (negotiable)
Location: Singapore (project-based, typically West Region) Office location is Tai seng
Work Arrangement: Site-based with local travel required occasional regional travel may be required

Job Overview

We are seeking a qualified Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO) to support safety operations across project sites in Singapore.

The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing safety policies, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting a strong workplace safety culture. This role plays a key part in protecting personnel, assets, and the environment through effective risk management and safety practices.

Key Responsibilities

Safety Management & Compliance

  • Implement and enforce Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) policies and procedures at project sites.

  • Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements and organisational safety standards.

  • Support and coordinate regulatory inspections and audits where required.

Risk Assessment & Hazard Control

  • Conduct risk assessments and hazard identification for site activities.

  • Ensure appropriate control measures are implemented for high-risk work.

  • Monitor site activities to ensure adherence to safety procedures.

Incident Management

  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses.

  • Conduct root cause analysis and recommend corrective and preventive actions.

  • Maintain accurate incident records and reporting.

Audits, Training & Emergency Preparedness

  • Perform regular safety inspections and audits across project sites.

  • Conduct safety training sessions including emergency response, fire safety, and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

  • Support development, testing, and implementation of emergency response plans.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.

Certifications

  • Registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO) with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM).

  • Additional certifications in ISO standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001) or internal auditing will be an advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant WSH experience, preferably in industrial, construction, oil & gas, or petrochemical environments.

Skills & Competencies

  • Good knowledge of Singapore WSH regulations and compliance requirements.

  • Strong risk assessment and incident investigation skills.

  • Good communication and stakeholder management abilities.

  • Ability to work independently in a site-based environment.

  • Willingness to travel across project sites and support regional projects when required.

Additional Information

  • This role requires working across multiple project sites in Singapore.

  • Local travel is required occasional overseas travel within the region may be necessary depending on project needs.
