Job Description:
a. The Workplace Safety Health Officer (WSHO) shall be registered with the Ministry of Manpower and be in-charge of all matters relating to safety aspects of construction activities to ensure that all work activities are carried out in compliance with the Workplace Safety and Health and Environmental Management Regulations
b. The WSHO is responsible for conducting daily site safety inspection, identifying potential hazards involved in construction activities, so as to rectify any unsafe practices with solutions. To ensure the potential hazard are eliminated or mitigated at work site before the work started. The WSHO shall work together with QPS and site supervision team RE &RTO and conduct safety briefings, witness tool box meetings before commencement of the daily work to ensure compliance with the WSH Act and Regulations, etc.
c. The WSHO shall review all the risk assessments submitted by Contractor to ensure all safety measures are in place at site, check the implementation of the safety and emergency plans, incident reporting systems. The WSHO shall be actively involved in incident investigation and conduct sharing with the workers on near missed incident where necessary. The WSHO shall ensure the Contractor submits proper documentation for the safety meeting minutes, records and reports.
d. The WSHO shall be based full-time on site.
