About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO) to oversee and enforce WSH compliance at project sites. This is a site-based position responsible for implementing and maintaining Workplace Safety & Health Management Systems in accordance with statutory regulations and project-specific requirements.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Project WSH Manager, construction teams, subcontractors, and authorities to ensure all works are executed safely and in compliance with MOM, LTA, and other regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

WSH Management & Compliance

  • Assist the Project Workplace Safety and Health Manager (WSHM) in the preparation, implementation, and maintenance of all WSH-related documentation and management systems
  • Ensure full compliance with MOM, LTA, and project-specific WSH/WSHE requirements
  • Monitor site activities to ensure works are carried out in accordance with approved Method Statements and Risk Assessments (MSRA)
  • Enforce compliance with safe work procedures and regulatory requirements

Site Safety Supervision & Coordination

  • Coordinate closely with Construction Teams and subcontractors to ensure safe execution of works
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards, unsafe acts, or unsafe conditions and implement corrective actions
  • Participate in WSH meetings, coordination meetings, and safety reviews

Training & Safety Awareness

  • Conduct regular in-house WSH refresher training and safety briefings for site personnel
  • Promote a strong safety culture and continuous safety improvement across project teams
  • Support toolbox meetings and safety awareness programmes

Incident Management & Reporting

  • Lead or assist in incident and accident investigations
  • Prepare detailed investigation reports for submission to management and relevant authorities
  • Recommend and implement corrective and preventive measures to prevent recurrence
  • Maintain accurate safety records and ensure timely reporting

Audit & Documentation

  • Support internal and external WSH audits and inspections
  • Maintain proper documentation, safety registers, and compliance records in accordance with project and statutory requirements
  • Monitor safety performance and assist in implementing continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

  • Registered with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) as a Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO)
  • Minimum 5 years of post-registration experience as a WSHO
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Main Contractor WSHO in construction projects
  • Experience in LTA projects and familiarity with LTA WSH/WSHE requirements is an advantage
  • Experience in rail or infrastructure projects preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Singapore WSH regulations and construction safety standards
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and report-writing skills
  • Proactive, responsible, and able to work independently in a fast-paced site environment
  • Strong leadership presence with firm enforcement capability
