Workplace Safety and Health Officer

My client is an A1 Main Contractor with a few decades of establishment in Singapore. They are seeking a MOM-registered professional, Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO), who is responsible for enforcing safety compliance, conducting site inspections, and managing safety management systems (WSHMS) in the construction industry. They investigate incidents, develop safety procedures, and advise management to prevent accidents.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular, proactive site inspections to ensure compliance with WSH Act regulations and identify hazardous conditions.
• Develop, implement, and review Risk Assessments (RA) and Safe Work Procedures (SWP) to control risks.
• Lead investigations into accidents, near-misses, and dangerous occurrences to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Organize safety campaigns, trainings, and briefings to cultivate a positive safety culture.
• Act as secretary of the WSH Committee, maintaining records for safety audits, reports, and statutory inspections.
• Coordinate emergency response drills (EPRP) and maintain emergency equipment

Key Requirements

• Must be registered with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) as a WSH Officer.
• A WSQ Specialist Diploma in WSH, or a degree in engineering/related fields.
• At least 6 to 8 years of relevant experience work as a WSHO, particularly in construction environment.
• Knowledgeable and strong understanding of ISO 45001/14001, WSH Act, and subsidiary legislation.
